![]() //About Erik Born in 1967, I am a native Floridian who became enamored with filmmaking from an early age. At seventeen, I was making home-spun movie spoofs for local cable channels while that sort of thing was in its infancy. Through the years, I’ve worked in various capacities on feature films, TV movies and documentaries. I graduated in 1991 from the University of North Florida with a bachelors in photojournalism. For years after that, I served as assistant art director at Sally Industries in Jacksonville; a company specializing in animatronics, dark rides and exhibits. It was around 1993 when I became serious about production and partnered with a video ministry called Reel 2 Real making numerous faith-based documentaries. In 2001, I moved to Nashville to continue work with R2R which relocated there. Parallel to all this was an increasing pursuit of graphic design. Starting in 2003, I went full-time as a freelance artist specializing in book, CD and DVD covers/packaging as well as one-sheet designs for films. Now I find my attention split between two distinct, yet connected worlds: design and filmmaking. Prior to my work for The Doorpost Film Project, I co-produced and directed a feature length retrospective on the movie “JAWS” titled “The Shark is Still Working” featuring exclusive interviews with its director Steven Spielberg and many of the surviving cast and crew and narrated by Roy Scheider, who has sadly since passed away. Earlier this summer, I entered a five minute film in the Doorpost Film Project titled “Big Ticket” -- a light-hearted look at greed and its inevitable consequences. Having made it into the top 15 final round on Hope, I embarked on a far more serious treatment, which I have thus far kept under wraps. The film’s title is “Alius Primoris” and deals with a grieving father’s guilt over his unresolved estrangement with his only son. Filming the piece has been an experience I’ll not forget and the lessons I’ve learned while doing so will serve me well in this career… of that I’m pretty certain. ![]() //Job History 'Blood River' (2008/II) (post-production) (graphic designer) 'Grizzly Park' (2008) (poster designer) 'Shadows of the Supernatural' (2005) (graphic artist) 'The Derby Stallion' (2005) (graphic designer) 'The UFO Conspiracy' (2004) (graphic designer) 'The Light of the World' (2003) (additional paintings) 'A Nation Adrift' (1995) (graphic designer) 'The Secrets of Nostradamus Exposed' (1995) (graphic designer) Director: 2000s 1990s 'The Shark Is Still Working: The Impact and Legacy of JAWS'(2006) 'The Final Frontier: Life, Death, and Beyond' (2004) 'Sound & Fury: The Incredible Power of Music Culture' (1999) 'The Great Civil War Debate' (1999) 'True Fiction' (1999) 'Big Ticket' (2008) Cinematographer: 2000s 1990s 'The Shark Is Still Working' (2006) 'Amazing Grace: The History and Theology of Calvinism' (2004) (uncredited) 'Warriors of Honor' (2004) 'Sounds of War' (2003) 'True Fiction' (1999) Editor: 2000s 1990s 'The Shark Is Still Working' (2006) 'The Final Frontier: Life, Death, and Beyond' (2004) 'Sound & Fury: The Incredible Power of Music Culture' (1999) 'The Great Civil War Debate' (1999) 'True Fiction' (1999) Camera and Electrical Department: 2000s 1980s 'Grizzly Park' (2008) (still photographer) 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (assistant camera) (1 episode, 2005) ... aka Oprah (USA: short title) - Episode dated 23 May 2005 (2005) TV episode (assistant camera) 'Licence to Kill' (1989) (additional still photographer) (uncredited) 'The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking' (1988) (documentary camera operator) ... aka 'Pippi Långstrump' - starkast i världen (Sweden) Actor: 2000s 1990s 'Grizzly Park' (2008) (voice) ....
